Just saw that Much hired Tarkowski and her whole team from Actuate Law to launch a new Tech Innovation and Financial Regulation practice. Five attorneys total - three in Chicago, two heading to Miami. Pretty solid move for the firm, honestly. Tarkowski was running Actuate before this, so she's bringing actual fintech and crypto experience to the table. The timing makes sense too. Companies dealing with AI, data privacy, and emerging tech are getting crushed by regulatory uncertainty right now. Having a dedicated team focused on that seems like the kind of service people actually need. Apparently Tarkowski was specifically drawn to Much's entrepreneurial culture and the fact that Courtney Mayster (the managing partner) is also a woman leading the firm. Interesting that she's framing it as both a cultural fit and a strategic one. This is the second major hire wave for Much in a few months - they also brought on people from Fenton Jurkowitz in October to beef up their healthcare practice. Feels like the firm is on a real growth trajectory right now.
