The U.S. Federal Reserve, today, addressed several questions related to cryptocurrencies, monetary policy, and the independence of the Federal Reserve Board during a Senate Banking Committee hearing on its confirmation.
Senate questions Warsh about cryptocurrencies
During a nearly three-hour public session, Senator Cynthia Lummis, a supporter of digital currencies, asked whether digital assets should be integrated into the financial system to give Americans more investment options and consumer protections. Warsh responded,
"Digital assets are already an integral part of our financial industry fabric, so yes."
This statement was widely interpreted as a call for cryptocurrencies rather than a hostile stance.
Additionally, Warsh's previous financial disclosures revealed a digital currency portfolio worth $100 million. He owns stakes in Solana, DYDX, Bitwise, Flashnet, and 20 other projects in the digital currency space.
