Iran has not requested an extension of the ceasefire, officials say the U.S. move is to buy time to launch a surprise attack

Golden Finance reported that on April 22, local time in the early morning of April 22, Iran said that it did not request an extension of the ceasefire. In response to a statement by U.S. President Trump earlier about extending the ceasefire deadline, an adviser to the Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran said on a social platform: “Trump’s proposed ceasefire extension is meaningless. The losers have no right to set conditions. The continued blockade and bombardment are no different, and must be met with military means. Moreover, Trump’s proposal to extend is clearly aimed at buying time to launch a surprise attack. Now is the time when Iran holds the initiative.” (CCTV)
