Qiongzhou Strait Spring Festival transportation volume hits a new high; new energy vehicle trips from Haian to Haikou increase by 61.66%
On March 14, reporters learned from the Guangdong Zhanjiang Maritime Department that during the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush, the Qiongzhou Strait Haian to Haikou route transported a total of 4.6637 million passengers and 1.1627 million vehicles, including 205.3k new energy vehicles, representing year-on-year increases of 11.7%, 9.45%, and 61.66%, respectively. The peak of passenger and vehicle flow occurred on February 24, when 360 ferry trips were operated on the Qiongzhou Strait, with 183.3k passengers and 42,262 vehicles transported in a single day, setting a new record for daily transportation.
