Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Build emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits and cultivate future industries like embodied intelligence
On March 19th, Xin Guobin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, presided over a symposium in Qingdao, Shandong Province, on the industrial economic operation in the first quarter and the drafting of the “14th Five-Year Plan.” The meeting emphasized the need to prioritize promoting steady growth of the industrial economy, focusing on key industries and regions, aligning supply and demand efforts, and implementing policies such as “two重” and “two新” to stimulate domestic demand. By providing high-quality supply to create new demand, further smooth the domestic big cycle; promote diversification of exports to stabilize industrial exports. Accelerate the enhancement of technological innovation capabilities in industries, strengthen scenario-driven development, promote the application of new products, and develop emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits, aerospace, biomedicine, and low-altitude economy. Cultivate future industries like quantum technology, embodied intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, and 6G. Continue to rectify “involution” competition, encourage enterprises to invest more resources in R&D innovation and quality improvement, and strengthen monitoring and early warning of key product capacities. Complete the high-quality drafting of the “14th Five-Year Plan” series for the industrial and information sectors, strengthen coordination between ministries and provinces, streamline and optimize overlapping and ineffective planning tasks, and ensure that plans are implementable and effective. Deepen research on major issues related to new industrialization, enhance risk assessment of economic operation and policy reserves, safeguard the bottom line of safe development, and promote qualitative improvement and reasonable quantitative growth of the economy.
