Recently, I've been looking into the IBC / cross-chain messaging system, and the more I look at it, the more it feels like delivering packages between two small communities: you not only have to trust the "bridge" itself, but also trust who is proving that something actually happened on the other side (the light client/validators), whether the relay/relayer is pulling a fast one, that the target chain's execution isn't being exploited by a contract, and finally, you have to trust that upgrade permissions won't change rules in the middle of the night. It’s like setting off fireworks during New Year’s or moving house—once it gets lively, it’s easy to forget what’s inside the box.

By the way, everyone’s been watching the unlock calendar, worried about selling pressure, but I think that the "invisible trust chain" of cross-chain systems is even more likely to cause mental breakdowns: when prices fall, you can blame emotions, but if the bridge fails, it’s a direct zeroing out experience... I now try to make as few cross-chain transactions as possible with small amounts; I’d rather wait a bit longer, for now.
