Brazilian President: The United States is lying
Ask AI · What lessons can be learned from the history of the United States fabricating lies to start wars?
Brazilian President Lula said on the 1st that, “The United States fabricated the lie that Iran possesses or is attempting to develop nuclear weapons,” and used it as a pretext to launch an unnecessary war.

“The United States launched an unnecessary war, claiming Iran had or was developing nuclear weapons. That is a lie,” Lula said in an interview in Ceará State, northeastern Brazil, even if there are disagreements between Israel and Iran, or the US and Iran, war is not necessary. The US and Israel declaring war on Iran will not solve any problems.
Lula also accused the US of repeatedly fabricating lies to start wars. He said the US declared war on Iraq over the alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction, but to this day, those weapons have not been found. This was entirely a fabricated excuse to start the war, and wars never solve any problems.
Lula said that this war led to a rise in global energy prices. Brazil relies on imports for 30% of its diesel. After the Strait of Hormuz was blocked, Brazil faced pressure to increase diesel prices. The Brazilian government has taken measures to reduce the impact of the Iran situation on the Brazilian economy, including lowering fuel taxes and increasing market regulation to prevent companies from raising prices opportunistically.
