ME News report: On April 12 (UTC+8), former BCB Group CEO and current Greater Things CEO Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie, along with his family, were robbed at knifepoint at their home in Maidenhead, Berkshire, on April 2. The four robbers bound his family members and explicitly demanded cryptocurrency wallet keys. Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie said the robbers’ target was clearly cryptocurrency; they were even not interested in the Aston Martin car parked in the driveway. As he had no cryptocurrency assets, the robbers ultimately took cash, silverware, and jewelry. So far, the Thames Valley Police has stepped in to investigate. Oliver subsequently issued a warning reminding public figures such as founders and CEOs in the crypto industry to stay alert to such organized, targeted crimes and to strengthen personal safety protections.
