Brazil's Central Bank lowers benchmark interest rate to 14.75%

On the 18th local time, the Central Bank of Brazil announced that due to the escalation of Middle Eastern geopolitical conflicts and increased external instability, the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Brazil lowered the annualized benchmark interest rate from 15% to 14.75%. This is also the first time since May 2024 that Brazil’s central bank has cut the benchmark interest rate. (CCTV News)
