I found that the biggest difference between grid/DCA and a single “one-shot” trade isn’t how much you make, but whether you sleep well… People like me who run to wherever things are cheapest are actually better suited for DCA: hopping around saves a bit on fees, and entering and exiting in batches means you’re not so likely to have your mindset blow up just because you got burned once. As for a one-shot trade, pretending to stay calm in the daytime, then staring at the candlestick charts until your eyes get dry at night—basically, it’s trading sleep for excitement.

Recently, after seeing everyone complain that miners/validators are getting fed too well, and that MEV scrambles the ordering so retail users feel like they’re lining up to buy tickets and getting cut in line, I don’t want to “go all-in” just once anymore. Getting taken out by a combination of slippage and a sandwich is just too suffocatingly frustrating. On the safety side, I’m willing to take one extra step: before making a large transfer, try a small transfer first. It’s a hassle, takes a few minutes, and costs a bit more gas—but at least it means I won’t end up back to “Liberation” in a single night. After all, you earn money slowly, and you still need to sleep.
