Have you ever stopped to think about how to find the coins with the greatest growth potential in the crypto market? Many people focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum, but there’s an entire universe of opportunities that often go unnoticed.
I’m going to talk about something most beginner traders don’t master well: low cap coins. And it’s no coincidence that many people avoid this segment — it truly requires more knowledge and caution. But if you know what to look for, the possibilities are quite interesting.
So let’s get started. What exactly is a low cap coin? Basically, they are coins with a market capitalization below 50 million dollars. You’ll notice that they have very affordable prices, low trading volume in 24 hours, and reduced liquidity. It may seem intimidating on paper, but that’s precisely where some experienced traders see opportunities.
But before anything else, I need you to understand how market capitalization works. It’s quite simple: you take the number of coins in circulation and multiply it by the unit price. That’s it. This gives you the market cap. For example, if a project has 1,000 coins in circulation and each costs 100 dollars, the market capitalization is 100,000 dollars.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. When you look at the crypto market, there are basically three categories of coins. The top coins — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether — these have a market cap above 1 billion. They are the safest, with guaranteed liquidity, the ones you always see at the top of CoinMarketCap. Ideal for those who want to sleep peacefully.
Then there are mid cap coins, which range between 100 million and 1 billion. These attract a lot of interest because they have a more moderate price but still reasonable liquidity. Many people seeking a middle ground start there.
But what about low cap coins? These are the territory of traders who really do their homework. Smaller market cap, cheap prices, reduced volume. It seems risky because it is. But it’s also where you find those coins that can skyrocket in price when the market starts paying attention.
The big challenge with low cap coins is exactly that: identifying which ones have real potential and which are just projects that will disappear. It requires analysis, understanding of the project, the community, and its utility. It’s not for everyone.
If you’re just entering this market and want to learn more about these opportunities, I recommend studying the fundamentals carefully before investing in low cap coins. But if you already have experience and know how to analyze projects, this segment can be quite profitable. It’s a matter of knowledge and patience.
