Russia states it will continue advancing research on rocket nuclear engines

Russian State Space Corporation President Bakhanov stated on the 1st that Russia will continue to advance research on rocket nuclear engines in 2026, laying the foundation for deep space exploration.
On the same day, Bakhanov introduced the development of space activities at the Federation Council (upper house of Parliament), saying that Russia has completed preliminary designs for a space complex equipped with nuclear power devices.
The application of rocket nuclear engines will shorten travel time to distant planets.
He also revealed that Russian experts have already started developing instruments this year to study the structure of the Moon.
In the future, Russia will scan the Moon and complete the modeling of a lander, which will collect lunar soil and transmit data back to Earth.
Bakhanov said that despite sanctions, Russia will continue to cooperate with the United States in manned spaceflight and joint operations of the International Space Station.
