Chinese e-commerce platforms may face a new round of hefty fines


According to Nikkei Asia, regulators plan to impose penalties on multiple platforms due to food safety issues:
Expected fines:
Pinduoduo: up to approximately 1.5 billion RMB
Taobao, JD.com, Meituan: approximately 50 million to 700 million RMB
Previously, Pinduoduo employees clashed with law enforcement during inspections
Some officials were injured, and the involved employees have been dealt with.
