Deep Tide TechFlow News, April 15 — Japan’s well-known e-commerce group Rakuten (Rakuten) subsidiary’s cryptocurrency trading and management platform Rakuten Wallet will officially launch XRP on April 15, 2026, as a listed asset and payment method. At that time, users will be able to directly purchase XRP with Rakuten Points and recharge XRP to Rakuten Cash, allowing consumption at over 5 million merchants in Japan.

Rakuten Pay has 44 million users. As Japan’s mainstream e-commerce payment platform, this move will expose XRP to a large number of non-cryptocurrency users. Users can also directly exchange the over 3 trillion issued Rakuten Points, approximately 23 billion USD, for XRP. Rakuten has over 100 million members, with annual e-commerce transaction volume reaching 5.6 trillion yen. XRP will become a tradable digital asset within the Rakuten ecosystem.
