Recently, I've seen a bunch of PFP profile picture changes, memberships, and "brand storytelling" again. Basically, it's asking: do you want to create a community that can stay with you for a long time, or just want to grab some attention and leave? I've seen a lot of this kind of hype, it's easy to attract people at first, but whether it can really stand the test depends on whether there are people willing to stay.
The collapse points of blockchain games are actually quite similar: inflation kicks in, studios enter the scene, and the token prices start spiraling downward. It’s very lively, but feels empty. If PFPs/memberships only rely on "more expensive and rarer" to sustain, they can easily follow the same script.
I might be a bit slow, but I prefer to see a project clearly define its rules and treat people as people, rather than constantly stirring emotions. I don’t need to be understood; I just hope noise doesn’t force me to make decisions… that’s all for now.
