The first day that the U.S. naval blockade order was carried out against Iran:

- No ships left Iranian ports
- Six commercial ships turned back after U.S. warnings
- No shots were fired; no coercive measures were needed
Meanwhile, traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is still proceeding normally, with more than 20 ships passing through.
The blockade began quietly but effectively.
Iran has backed down; the ships are turning back without resistance.
The real challenge will come in the next few days when Tehran decides whether to resist or continue to keep safe.
