Been scrolling through the charts and wondering which coins might actually hit that magical $1 mark this cycle? There's definitely some interesting candidates out there if you know where to look. I've been digging into the next crypto to hit $1 and honestly, a few stand out more than others.
So here's the thing - I filtered for projects that have never touched $1 yet, are trading above a penny to avoid total moonshots, and are in the top 500 by market cap. That narrowed things down pretty quick. Let me break down the four that seem most promising.
Dogecoin's probably the one everyone's watching. DOGE came close back in 2021, hit like $0.73 at its peak when the market was absolutely euphoric. Right now it's sitting around $0.09 with a market cap of about $14 billion. If it does hit $1, we're talking roughly $169 billion market cap - that would make it the third biggest crypto after Bitcoin and Ethereum. The Bitcoin halving usually kicks off some serious rallies, and meme coins tend to ride those waves pretty hard. For DOGE to reach $1, you're looking at roughly a 1000% move from current levels.
Then there's Kaspa, which is doing something different with its blockDAG tech instead of traditional blockchain. KAS has been getting attention, especially with all the Bitcoin ETF buzz last year. It hit $0.21 back in August 2024, but has pulled back to around $0.03 now - that's a pretty brutal 83% drop from peak. For it to hit $1, KAS needs to go up like 2800% from here, which would put it at a $27 billion market cap. The community around it is pretty solid though, and the tech actually seems legit.
Stellar's been around for over a decade doing the cross-border payment thing. XLM got pretty close to breaking $1 during previous bull runs, hitting above $0.60 in both 2018 and 2021. Currently trading at $0.15 with a $5 billion market cap. The next crypto to hit $1 could definitely be XLM if we see another proper bull market - it would need about a 6.6x move. Some prediction models are conservative on this one though, only expecting it to reach maybe $0.25 by mid-2026.
Hedera Hashgraph's HBAR token is the last one worth talking about. It's enterprise-focused with some serious backing from major corporations. HBAR peaked at $0.57 in 2021, and it's now at $0.09 with a $3.7 billion market cap. Getting to $1 would require almost a 1000% pump, putting it around $43 billion market cap. The real catalyst here is if enterprises actually start adopting the platform for tokenization and on-chain asset management. That could be the next crypto to hit $1 story if the institutional adoption narrative plays out.
Here's the reality though - all of these depend heavily on what Bitcoin does. These aren't isolated plays; they rise and fall with the broader market. If Bitcoin rallies hard post-halving, yeah, these could all make moves. But if the market tanks, none of them are hitting $1 anytime soon. The crypto ecosystem is interconnected like that. You can't just pick a coin and expect it to moon regardless of market conditions. Watch Bitcoin, watch the macro, and then make your moves accordingly.
