According to a report from Xinhua News Agency, a brain-computer interface was included in the government work report for the first time, becoming one of the technology buzzwords during the two sessions of the National People’s Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and has been clearly identified as a key focus for future industrial development. Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, efforts will be strengthened to tackle scientific and technological problems in areas such as brain-computer interfaces. This technology is not only a cutting-edge field that integrates multiple disciplines such as medicine and computer science, but is also seen as a crucial pillar for the development of future high-tech industries. China has achieved a leading parallel with international progress along non-invasive technology pathways and is gradually advancing industrial applications, covering areas such as intelligent interaction and intelligent manufacturing. To promote the development of brain-computer interfaces, it is necessary to strengthen basic research and foster coordinated innovation across multiple parties.
