Mint, HP close loop on recycled copper

Abstract generation in progress

Mint Innovation has partnered with HP Inc. to achieve the first certified closed-loop recycling of copper from e-scrap into new electronics. Mint’s hydrometallurgical process recovers high-purity copper from end-of-life HP devices, which was then incorporated into new HP laptop models, demonstrating a traceable and commercial-scale solution to critical material shortages. The company plans to expand its operations, including a new US facility, to process e-scrap closer to its source, addressing the significant global copper deficit and low electronics recycling rates.
