Restart! WeRide will resume operations of the Dubai Robotaxi fleet this week.

On March 5, a reporter from 21st Century Business Herald learned from Wenyuan Zhixing that the company’s Robotaxi ride-hailing operation service in Dubai will resume this week. Previously, affected by the situation in Iran, on March 1, Chinese autonomous driving technology companies Wenyuan Zhixing and Luobo Kuaipao announced a temporary suspension of operations for their Robotaxi fleets in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Wenyuan Zhixing also told reporters that the company will work with RTA Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority to officially launch a commercial, fully driverless Robotaxi operation in Dubai within this month, to support Dubai’s development vision that by 2030, 25% of transportation trips will be handled by autonomous driving.

The Middle East is one of Wenyuan Zhixing’s key overseas markets. Wenyuan Zhixing’s Q3 2025 report shows that, as of the end of the third quarter, the size of its Robotaxi fleet in the Middle East had already exceeded 100 vehicles, making it the only autonomous driving company in the region to achieve normalized commercial operations. In July last year, Wenyuan obtained Saudi Arabia’s first autonomous driving license. In December last year, the company, together with ride-hailing service provider Uber, jointly announced that with the support of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, it had officially launched a Robotaxi public-operation service in Dubai through the Uber App.
