ME News message, on April 5 (UTC+8), Ro Khana, a member of the Democratic Party’s Armed Services Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, said in an NBC interview that Trump is “letting down the U.S. military” on the Iran issue, adding that his remarks are out of sync with reality. Khana pointed out that earlier Trump posted a message calling on Iran to “open that damned Strait of Hormuz,” or else it would face an escalation strike. While Trump “swore and threatened war crimes,” U.S. military personnel were under fire, even though Trump repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military power had been destroyed. Khana said, “We now must end this war. We need an immediate ceasefire. Iran, Israel, and the United States must stop the bombing and reach a solution through negotiations.” He also said he would refuse to support any additional funds to extend the conflict, including appropriations directly for the Pentagon’s war operations.
