Ukraine and Saudi Arabia reach defense cooperation agreement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the 27th that Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have reached an important agreement on defense cooperation. Zelensky said on social media that day that the agreement reached by the two countries’ defense ministries “lays the groundwork for future contracts, technical cooperation, and investment, and also strengthens Ukraine’s international role as a security assistance provider.” Zelensky also said that during his visit to Saudi Arabia, he met with Ukrainian military experts there. He emphasized that the main task of Ukraine’s air defense experts in the region is to counter the threat posed by Iranian drones and missiles. Zelensky previously revealed that Ukraine has sent 201 anti-drone experts to the Middle East. According to Saudi Press Agency, Zelensky arrived in Saudi Arabia on the afternoon of the 26th, and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed met with him in Jeddah in the early hours of the 27th.
