I noticed an interesting point — Elon Musk recently met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington. Not alone, but accompanied by his girlfriend Shivon Zilis and three children. The meeting took place on February 13 at Blair House, the official guest residence of the U.S. president.

What was discussed? Space technology, transportation, innovation. But if you look deeper, it was about strategic cooperation in new technologies and startups. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that the conversation was serious.

An interesting detail — Modi gifted Musk’s children three books of classical Indian literature. It was clearly a symbolic gesture showing respect for the family. By the way, Musk’s girlfriend Shivon Zilis is the CEO of his startup Neuralink, and she has Indian roots on her mother’s side.

Essentially, this meeting is about the fight for the satellite internet market in South Asia. SpaceX has long been trying to enter India with its Starlink, but faces resistance from a local conglomerate. The Indian government seems ready to support Musk and his company. This could significantly change the situation in the region.

If Starlink receives a license, it will be a key moment for the development of India’s space industry. Musk, whom the White House calls a special government official, has all the means to influence such decisions. His companies dominate space with Starlink and Falcon 9.

However, some Democrats criticize this meeting, saying Musk’s influence in the administration is too great. But the fact remains — the meeting took place, and it could have long-term consequences for technological cooperation between the countries. The story is developing interestingly.
