Media: Israel's "daytime attack" was a surprise move, "Iran would not expect an attack during the day"

According to outlets such as The Times of Israel and Israel’s Channel 12 television, as reported by media on February 28 citing anonymous sources, this joint U.S.-Israel operation has been planned for months. The media also said that Israel chose to launch its first attack during the daytime to catch Iran off guard, because Iran would not expect to be attacked in the daytime. On February 28 local time, the Iranian capital of Tehran heard explosions. Israel’s Defense Minister Katz said he had launched a “preemptive” strike against Iran. On February 28, Qatar’s Al Jazeera reported, citing U.S. officials, that the United States and Israel have launched a joint military operation against Iran with the aim of destroying Iran’s security system. Other Iranian officials said that Iran is preparing for a retaliatory action, and that this retaliation would be “destructive.” (Global Net)
