IT Home reported on March 18 that Google announced on the 17th of this month, local time, that it will build a data center in the service area of the energy company DTE Energy in Michigan, in the United States. Google will also work with DTE Energy to provide the state with 2.7GW of clean energy generation capacity, improving the reliability of the state’s power system while supporting the operation of its own data centers.

As part of its corporate responsible energy policy, Google will establish a total $10 million (IT Home note: at the current exchange rate, approximately RMB 68.94M) “Energy Impact Fund” to support energy-efficiency upgrades for homes in Michigan, home energy-saving innovations, and the training of energy talent—helping communities in Michigan reduce their electricity costs.
