** 【Caixin.com】** Huawei’s top management has undergone changes. On March 31, in its 2025 annual report, Huawei disclosed that members of its board of directors were adjusted during the period from 2025 to March 2026. The chairman remains Liang Hua. The two vice chairmen, Xu Zhijun and Meng Wanzhou, remain unchanged. However, Huawei elder statesman Hu Houkun, who had served as vice chairman for many years, has been reassigned as a director. Wang Tao, who had previously served as an executive director, was elected as the new vice chairman.

On the same day, Huawei announced that, under the company’s rotating chairmen system, from April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026, Wang Tao will serve as the acting rotating chairman, presiding over the company’s board of directors and its standing committee of the board of directors.

Huawei started implementing a rotating chair system for its Executive Management Team (EMT) in its early years, and in 2011 it was upgraded to a rotating CEO system. Three vice chairmen—Guo Ping, Xu Zhijun, and Hu Houkun—alternated as CEO, each term lasting 6 months. During the rotating period, they served as the highest responsible person for the company’s operations management and crisis management, and were responsible for the company’s survival and development. In 2018, as Liang Hua took over from Sun Yafang as chairman, Huawei’s CFO and Ren Zhengfei’s daughter, Meng Wanzhou, was elected as vice chairman. Huawei began implementing the rotating chairmen system for the board of directors, still with Guo Ping, Xu Zhijun, and Hu Houkun serving in rotation. Each term remained 6 months.
