Local time on the 4th, a small aircraft made an emergency landing on a highway in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In videos posted by witnesses, the small plane “came down from the sky,” landed steadily on the road, and then rolled along for a distance. According to an official statement, there were two people on board the aircraft at the time, and neither was injured. The plane took off from New Jersey and was scheduled to fly to Indiana, but had to make the emergency landing due to an engine malfunction. The pilot had tried to reach a nearby airport but was not able to. After the incident, the eastbound lanes of the highway were closed, causing severe traffic congestion in that stretch.
