MIT conducted a study tracking the wealth trajectories of over 1,000 ordinary people and found that those who ultimately achieved financial freedom had tried an average of 7.3 different approaches before finding a successful way to make money.

Note: It's not 7.3 successful attempts—it's 7.3 attempts in total.

What about those who remained poor? They averaged only 0.8 attempts.

They tried once, it didn't work, then gave up, and spent 10 years convincing themselves, "I'm just not cut out for this."
