Xinhua News Agency Jerusalem, March 23 — According to Israel’s “Jerusalem Post” on the 23rd, senior U.S. officials recently informed Israel and other countries that the U.S. “may have no choice” but to launch a ground military operation against Iran’s Halek Island.

The report quoted two informed sources as saying that the U.S. military is accelerating the deployment of thousands of Marines and naval personnel to the Middle East. This deployment includes the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer, the amphibious transport dock USS Portland, and the dock landing ship USS Anchorage, carrying approximately 4,500 Marines and other combat personnel.

U.S. President Trump threatened on the 15th that the United States is ready to launch a new strike on Halek Island and may take further action against Iran’s oil infrastructure.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency on the 21st, citing Iranian military sources, if the U.S. launches a “military invasion” of Halek Island, it will face an “unprecedented retaliation” since the U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran.

Halek Island is located in the northwest of the Persian Gulf, about 25 kilometers from the Iranian coast. It is approximately 6 kilometers long and 3 kilometers wide, and is Iran’s largest crude oil export base, with 90% of Iran’s crude oil exported from here. (End)
