Saudi Arabia and the UAE are "gradually" considering joining actions against Iran, according to media reports.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that according to The Israel Times, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are gradually accelerating their efforts to actively participate in countering Iran, as the war in the Middle East poses a threat to their economies. The report cites The Wall Street Journal, stating that after Riyadh allowed the U.S. military to use an airbase within its territory, Gulf countries are “gradually” taking more proactive actions. A source familiar with the decision-making process said that Saudi Arabia’s decision to join the fight is “only a matter of time.” Previously, Saudi Foreign Minister last week stated that the country’s tolerance for Iranian attacks “is not unlimited.” It is reported that last week, four senior officials from different Gulf capitals told The Israel Times that although they initially opposed the use of force, Gulf countries are now urging the U.S. to continue striking the Iranian regime to ensure that Iran’s military power is sufficiently weakened after the war, so it no longer poses a threat to them. However, these countries have not yet launched any attacks on their own, as Gulf leaders remain extremely concerned about triggering a broader, uncontrollable large-scale conflict. (Jin10)
