CCTV News Reporter Local time March 24th learned that Israeli officials stated that the possibility of the United States and Iran reaching an agreement is “very slim.”

It is said that the differences are not only due to the US demands—including restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and navigation freedom in the Strait of Hormuz—but also due to Iran’s demands.

Two sources involved in mediation said, “Currently, Iran insists that the US make concessions and guarantees that no further actions will be taken against Iran in any agreement.”

On February 28th, the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran, during which Iran’s then Supreme Leader Khamenei was targeted and killed. Subsequently, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against US military bases and Israeli targets in the Middle East.

On March 23rd, US President Trump stated that the US is in negotiations with Iran to determine whether a broader agreement can be reached. Trump said, “This time, Iran is serious; they want to reach a reconciliation. The US has cleared all targets within Iran, including its leadership.”
