Caixin: Amid the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, the Boao Asia Forum 2026 Annual Conference has opened. Boao Asia Forum Secretary-General Zhang Jun stated at a press conference on March 24 that the direction of the world has become a major issue facing everyone.
He also pointed out that Asia bears an important mission and plays a key role in promoting global economic growth, leading global economic transformation, improving global governance, and maintaining global stability.
Since the outbreak of war on February 28, the Middle East conflict has entered its fourth week. The passage through the “Middle Eastern oil valve” Hormuz Strait has been blocked, and attack targets have extended to energy infrastructure, with approximately 25% of the world’s oil and gas supply capacity suffering extensive damage.
