Shanghai: Special Rectification Campaign on New Fuel Use in Food Service Industry; Eliminates a Batch, Regulates a Batch

The Shanghai Municipal Safety Production Committee Office issued a notice to carry out special rectification in the catering industry using new types of fuel, shutting down some and standardizing others. It aims to improve the departmental coordination and supervision mechanism, strengthen information sharing and joint law enforcement, and severely crack down on illegal production, operation, and transportation of alcohol-based liquid fuels. It also guides gas-using catering units to safely and规范使用燃气, or use electricity as an alternative energy source. For those temporarily lacking gas or electricity conditions, it规范其安全使用新型燃料. The initiative establishes a long-term management mechanism, conducts regular classified rectification, effectively prevents and mitigates safety risks associated with new fuels, and ensures the safety of people’s lives and property.
