According to Haikou Customs, since the beginning of this year, Hainan has achieved a “good start” in import and export trade with other Boao Asia Forum initiating countries.
Statistics from Haikou Customs show that in the first two months of this year, Hainan’s imports and exports with 28 other Boao Asia Forum initiating countries reached 17.16 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%, accounting for 33.7% of Hainan’s total foreign trade imports and exports during the same period. Among them, exports totaled 7.18 billion yuan, a 62.4% increase; imports reached 9.98 billion yuan, an 11.1% increase.
In the first two months of this year, Hainan’s imports and exports with 24 initiating countries achieved double-digit growth. These countries are the main sources of mineral sands and agricultural products imported by Hainan; more than half of Hainan’s agricultural products are sold to these countries, with exports of edible oil, vegetables, alcohol and beverages, and tea showing varying degrees of growth. Additionally, exports of mechanical and electrical products to these countries reached 2.06 billion yuan, a 159.2% increase, accounting for 28.7% of Hainan’s total exports to the initiating countries.
