President Donald Trump downplayed the move to relax some of the sanctions on Iran’s oil reserves on Monday, saying the measure is aimed at easing the worsening energy crisis, increasing supply, and will “have no impact” on the war situation.

When asked about his previous criticism of former President Barack Obama for providing cash to Iran as part of the Iran nuclear deal, Trump said, “I just want as much oil as possible in the market.”

Trump continued, “We’re not even sure Iran can get that money. Honestly, I think it’s going to be difficult for them.”

Trump claimed that any revenue Iran gains from these oil sales would be minimal.

He said, “Any small amount of money Iran gets will not affect this war at all. But I want the energy markets to run smoothly.”
