On March 14, CITIC Bank launched a new “Parent-Child Financial Service System,” focusing on the diverse needs of parent-child families in wealth accumulation, children’s education expenses, and family investment preservation and appreciation. Through specialized and scenario-based parent-child financial services, it injects wealth momentum into family growth.

It is understood that this system centers around the co-branded debit card “Little Dog Money,” and is built around two main themes: youth development and family wealth management. It includes parent-child account functions and benefits such as children’s health, parent-child reading, and parent-child themed salons, deeply integrating financial services with daily family life to help parent-child families better manage their wealth.

Using a classic IP to inspire financial literacy and build a path for youth growth

Recently, CITIC Bank, in partnership with CITIC Publishing Group, launched the co-branded “Little Dog Money” debit card with the well-known financial literacy IP “Little Dog Money,” attracting a large group of parents who are saving their children’s New Year’s money after the Spring Festival.

“Little Dog Money” has been a global bestseller for 20 years, with over 10 million copies sold across 28 countries and regions. It is positioned as a “wealth-building guide for readers of all ages,” consistently ranking high on domestic bestseller lists in finance and parent-child education. The publishing industry believes it fills a gap in children’s financial literacy literature in China and pioneers a hybrid content model of “reference book + fairy tale narrative.”

CITIC Bank states that the concepts conveyed in “Little Dog Money,” such as savings, planning, and goal setting, align closely with the bank’s goals for financial literacy in parent-child financial services. The bank hopes that through this co-branded card, children can gradually understand and establish correct wealth concepts by engaging with familiar IP characters while learning basic financial tools. The card is now available at CITIC Bank branches nationwide and via mobile banking. Cardholders have the chance to receive a “Little Dog Money” themed gift box, and parents can apply online and activate the card offline to help their children get their first bank card.

Using professional accounts for better planning and empowering family wealth management

In addition to the co-branded debit card, CITIC Bank’s newly launched “Parent-Child Financial Service System” also includes “Parent-Child Accounts,” covering three key areas: financial protection, financial literacy cultivation, and growth companionship. Through savings products, account management, and parent-child services, it helps parents scientifically manage their children’s education funds and growth funds, while guiding children to develop correct money concepts and cultivate financial literacy.

The parent-child account is an important measure for CITIC Bank to base its family finance scenarios on and to implement its “customer-centric” transformation. It offers professional and scenario-based services to meet the diverse needs of modern families in youth development planning and financial literacy education, further extending the “wealth management + family services” ecosystem. CITIC Bank states: “The family is the basic unit of society and an important scene for financial services. The launch of ‘Parent-Child Accounts’ extends financial services from individuals to families, from asset management to growth empowerment. We hope to accompany families with professional financial tools and warm services, helping Chinese families achieve both material and spiritual wealth accumulation.”

Providing diverse benefits for daily life and expanding the circle of happiness

Beyond financial services, CITIC Bank leverages themes such as health, consumption, education, and vision to carefully create a series of parent-child themed services, including children’s health services, parent-child reading programs, and themed activities. The bank will continue to iterate this service system, connecting high-quality social resources, and providing warm parent-child financial services to help families achieve dual growth in material and spiritual wealth.

On the day of the launch, CITIC Bank, in cooperation with CITIC Publishing Group, held a large-scale parent-child event titled “Youth Watching China” in Urumqi, part of the “Reading China” journey. CITIC Bank has always been committed to providing more comprehensive companionship and services for parent-child families, covering four major areas: “New Wealth,” “New Growth,” “New Planning,” and “New Life,” to meet the multi-dimensional needs across different life cycles, wealth stages, and personal plans.
