Ministry of Civil Affairs: Elderly Care Service Consumption Subsidy Program for Moderately and Severely Disabled Seniors Has Benefited Over 1.05 Million People

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 24 (Reporter Zhu Gaoxiang) — According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs on the 24th, as of now, a total of 3.328 million consumption vouchers have been redeemed nationwide for elderly with moderate or higher levels of disability through the elderly care service subsidy program. The total redemption amount is 2.35 billion yuan, driving elderly care service consumption to 11.5 billion yuan, benefiting over 1.05 million disabled seniors.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs stated that the next step will focus on benefiting people’s livelihoods and promoting consumption. It will address bottlenecks and difficulties in project implementation, continuously optimize processes, improve services, strengthen supervision, and expand the scope of beneficiaries and the accuracy of services, so that more elderly people can share the fruits of reform and development.
