General Dynamics Electric Boat, a Connecticut-based subsidiary of General Dynamics, has been awarded a $15.38 billion Navy contract modification. This modification is for additional design, lead yard support, and sustainment work on Columbia-class ballistic missile submarines, which are set to replace the Ohio-class fleet. This contract, expected to be completed by June 2035, expands upon previous multi-billion dollar awards for the Columbia-class program.
