According to Beijing Daily, on March 24, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a routine press conference.

A reporter from AFP asked whether China has any comments on U.S. President Trump’s statement that he will delay strikes on Iran’s power facilities by five days to leave room for negotiations. Trump also said that the U.S. is communicating with an unnamed senior Iranian official.

Lin Jian stated that prolonging the conflict is not in the interest of any party, and a ceasefire and dialogue are the only way out. China is deeply concerned about the ongoing escalation and spillover effects that threaten regional and international peace and stability. We call on all relevant parties to immediately cease fire and return to peaceful dialogue as soon as possible.
