TD Securities: The US dollar is a conditional safe-haven asset
Mars Finance reports that, according to Jintiao, TD Securities strategists stated in a report that the US dollar currently functions as a “conditional safe-haven asset.” They pointed out that the dollar is no longer a natural safe haven, but the nature of the current shocks has restored its safe-haven qualities. Because the US remains a relatively closed economy, with energy independence and an isolated geographic location, the Iran conflict has driven safe-haven funds into the dollar.
