Odaily Planet Daily reports that a couple in their 50s in western Paris was robbed by fake police officers at their home and was forced to transfer about 900,000 euros (approximately $1 million) worth of Bitcoin. The incident occurred on Monday morning when three suspects posing as police officers broke into the residence in Le Chesnay-Rocquencourt, threatened the couple with knives, and forced the husband to transfer Bitcoin. The criminals then tied up the man, injured both of them, and fled in a white van. The wife later rescued her husband, called the police around 9 a.m. local time, and notified neighbors. The case is under investigation by the French Violence Crime Squad, with charges including illegal detention, organized gang armed robbery, and conspiracy.
