Today, I visited the Federal Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu, and what I saw there left me with a deep and sober reflection about life.
Even as I write this, my hands are still shaking. I saw things my eyes have never seen before. It made me pause and ask myself a difficult question: What is life really about? What are all these struggles for in the end?
Inside those hospital walls, the reality of life becomes very clear. Many people are fighting quietly just to survive another day. Some are in severe pain, while their loved ones sit beside them, worried and exhausted. Beyond the physical suffering, families are also battling the heavy burden of hospital bills. Emotionally and psychologically, many of them are completely drained.
At that moment, it became clear to me that life is fragile, and the struggles we chase every day may not matter as much as we think.
This is why I want to make a heartfelt appeal to those whom God has blessed financially. Please visit hospitals when you can. There are so many people there who desperately need help, people who simply want another chance at life but cannot afford the treatment they need.
I must also sincerely appreciate the management and staff of the hospital. The doctors, nurses, and other health workers are doing an incredible job under very difficult circumstances. Their dedication and compassion deserve recognition.
Today’s experience has left a permanent mark on my heart. It reminded me that if God ever gives me the opportunity to serve in public office one day, I will never joke with the health sector. The lives of our people depend on it.
Sometimes, all it takes is one visit to a hospital to understand how precious life truly is.
Shalom 🙏
