(MENAFN- PRovoke) TOKYO – Global CEO advisory firm Teneo has appointed Takashi Hirono as its new senior managing director, based in Tokyo.

Hirono will collaborate across Teneo’s global advisory platform to deliver integrated, senior-level counsel to clients at critical inflection points. He will also work closely with colleagues across the firm to drive growth and deepen client relationships in the Japanese market.

Hirono brings more than two decades of experience advising senior leaders through complex, high-stakes mandates. He has deep expertise across M&A, special situations, activism defence, investor relations and crisis management, supporting clients during periods of critical change where financial, regulatory and reputational considerations converge.

Prior to joining Teneo, Hirono served as executive vice president and head of Japan at Edelman Smithfield. Earlier in his career, he held roles in investment banking, building extensive experience supporting boards and executive teams across a wide range of industries.

“Takashi’s appointment represents an important step in further strengthening Teneo’s business in Japan, building on our strong track record of advising on some of the country’s most significant and high-profile corporate situations. His deep experience guiding clients through complex financial and high-stakes environments further strengthens the integrated, global, senior-led counsel we provide at critical moments. Working closely with our teams around the world, Takashi will support Japanese clients as they navigate increasingly dynamic financial, political and regulatory conditions to make confident, value-defining decisions,” said Lauren Chung, CEO, Asia-Pacific, strategy and communications at Teneo.

“For companies in Japan, delivering successful M&A, defending against activist investors and executing complex financial transactions increasingly requires careful navigation of an evolving political, regulatory, financial and stakeholder landscape, said Hirono.“Teneo’s integrated and collaborative approach is uniquely suited to helping clients manage these inflection points with clarity. I look forward to working with colleagues across our global platform to support clients as they make critical decisions that shape long-term value.”
