On the 10th local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani posted on his social media account criticizing the attacks launched by the US and Israel, which damaged Iran’s historical and cultural heritage. Kanaani stated that after the attack on the Golestan Palace (also known as the “Rose Palace”) in Tehran, the Chehel Sotoun Palace in Isfahan was also damaged in related attacks. Kanaani said that this building is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, not only part of Iran’s cultural and civilizational heritage but also a treasure of all humanity. He expressed concern that the deliberate attacks by the US and Israel on the historic core of Isfahan put these priceless historical heritages at risk. Kanaani concluded by saying, “When the brutal crimes of invaders threaten the shared cultural heritage of mankind, the world should not remain silent.” (CCTV News)
