This year, Beijing aims to push the scale of the artificial intelligence industry to surpass 550 billion yuan.
China News Service Beijing, February 28 (Reporter Lü Shaowei) This year, Beijing will deepen the application of artificial intelligence in fields such as scientific research, manufacturing, healthcare, education, finance, trade, and culture and tourism. The city aims to establish a national AI application pilot base, push the AI industry scale beyond 550 billion yuan, and cultivate 2-3 leading AI enterprises with ecosystem dominance and a number of specialized and innovative companies.
Li Hui, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, mentioned these points at a press conference held on the 28th.
Li Hui introduced that by 2025, Beijing will achieve a series of results in digital infrastructure construction, digital industry development, industrial digital transformation, and international cooperation in digital economy. This year, 5,122 new 5G-A base stations will be built, totaling 18,000; an additional 38,000 P of intelligent computing power will be added, reaching a total of 60,000 P, effectively supporting large model research and application within Beijing. The added value of above-scale electronic manufacturing in the city will grow by 20.2%, higher than the national average by 9.6 percentage points; the added value of software and information service industries will increase by 11%. Thirty-two platform companies have been selected among China’s top 100 internet comprehensive strength, ranking first nationwide.
By 2025, Beijing will have built five lighthouse factories, seven national intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprises, and nineteen top-tier intelligent factories, providing benchmarks for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry nationwide. A total of 119 internet hospitals will be established, with internet diagnosis and treatment volume reaching 2.616 million cases in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 56.4%, further improving the digital level of healthcare services.
Li Hui stated that this year, Beijing will focus on key areas such as large models, autonomous full-stack technology, 6G, quantum information, and virtual reality, aiming to produce more world-class scientific research results. The city will promote the performance of various large models into the top tier globally, strengthen open-source ecosystems like FlagOS and RISC-V, build 6G test networks and prototypes, and establish a first-class digital security technology support system.
Beijing will enrich its smart terminal product lineup, launching 3-5 new products including AI glasses. The city will attract high-quality enterprises to set up R&D centers and mass production lines, enhancing the design and delivery capabilities of smart terminals and core components. It will cultivate a “super-site” ecosystem, building intelligent control platforms to support live broadcasts of 100 theaters’ “super-site” operations, and carry out commercial “super-site” operations, promoting cross-regional real-time sharing of high-quality performance resources such as the National Grand Theatre. The city will seize the high ground of embodied intelligence industry, releasing market-leading humanoid robot products.
This year, Beijing will accelerate the construction of high-quality industry data sets, implementing 20 public-social data integration innovation scenarios. The city will improve the data element market system and promote comprehensive data legislation. It will build an “ultra-node + industry node” intelligent computing power support belt, adding over 70,000 P of intelligent computing scale, and improve blockchain and advanced network infrastructure layouts. The city will promote large-scale IPv6 deployment, aiming for fixed network IPv6 traffic to account for over 35%. It will advance the “Dual Intelligence” City 4.0 construction and develop a smart transportation brain. (End)
