Gus Antorcha Takes the Helm at Carnival's Princess Cruises Division
Carnival Corporation has unveiled significant leadership changes across its cruise division portfolio, with Gus Antorcha rising to lead Princess Cruises starting December 2, 2024. The executive promotion marks a pivotal restructuring within the company’s global cruise operations, positioning key leaders in strategic roles.
Leadership Reshuffle Across Carnival’s Cruise Brands
Antorcha’s elevation to the presidency of Princess Cruises comes as his predecessor John Padgett transitions out of the business in mid-February 2025. The move represents the latest in a series of executive adjustments designed to strengthen operational efficiency across Carnival’s portfolio. Concurrently, Beth Bodensteiner has ascended from her role as senior vice president and chief commercial officer of Holland America Line to assume the presidency of that cruise brand, effective the same date in early December 2024. Both executives now report directly to Josh Weinstein, who leads Carnival Corporation as CEO, ensuring streamlined decision-making at the highest levels.
Organizational Structure and Reporting Lines
Beyond the primary appointments, Carnival has brought Mark Tamis back into the organization to lead the ultra-luxury Seabourn brand as its new president. Tamis replaces Natalya Leahy, who has held various positions within Carnival throughout her tenure. Bodensteiner’s expanded responsibilities now extend to Seabourn oversight, reflecting her growing influence within the corporation’s executive hierarchy. These coordinated moves underscore Carnival’s commitment to centralizing leadership under experienced operators who can drive growth across its diverse cruise line portfolio—from mainstream brands like Princess Cruises to luxury segments represented by Seabourn.
