Odaily Planet Daily reports that U.S. President Donald Trump stated at the Florida Republican Party meeting that he will refuse to sign any other laws until the Congress approves the “SAVE America Act”—a bill concerning voter identification, citizen verification, and restrictions on mail-in ballots.

This stance could hinder the long-anticipated Digital Asset Market Clarity Act for the crypto industry. The crypto bill is currently under tough negotiations by the Senate Banking Committee, after previously being approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Although Trump has been calling for improved crypto regulation since early last year and considers it a White House priority, he now insists that voter identification legislation is his top priority, claiming it is key to ensuring Republican wins in the midterm elections and beyond.

Currently, the prediction market Polymarket shows an 85% probability of the Republican losing the House majority seat. (CoinDesk)
