Abstract generation in progress

Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched new color-based (chromogenic) culture media, Brilliance Candida 2 Agar and Spectra Candida Agar, to accelerate the detection and differentiation of clinically important Candida species, including drug-resistant Candida auris. These new media are designed to provide faster, clearer visual results compared to conventional methods, aiding in quicker outbreak response, informed treatment decisions, and strengthening defenses against antimicrobial resistance. This development addresses the growing challenge of invasive fungal infections, especially from Candida auris, which is known for its multi-drug resistance and high mortality rates.
