Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China urges the U.S. to stop looking for excuses to resume nuclear testing
Regarding the US accusation that China is conducting nuclear tests, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated at the regular press conference on February 25 that the US accusations are baseless and cover-ups. China has repeatedly reaffirmed that it firmly supports the purposes and objectives of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and has always upheld the commitment of the five nuclear-weapon states to “pause nuclear tests.” The US, in an attempt to evade international arms control obligations, has gone so far as to smear and defame other countries. Such actions seriously damage its own international credibility. China urges the US to honor its commitment to “pause nuclear tests,” uphold the international consensus on banning nuclear tests, and stop finding excuses to restart nuclear testing. (Xinhua)
