According to The Guardian, the U.S. banking lobbying organization, the Bank Policy Institute, is considering suing the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) over its relaxation of national trust bank licensing policies for crypto and fintech companies. The organization represents about 40 major banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, and has previously opposed granting licenses to crypto companies like Circle and Ripple, arguing that such moves could weaken regulatory standards and increase financial system risks.
